Notes on deep atheism
Here are a few working notes on deep atheism, Joe Carlsmith's lovely notion of a fundamental orientation of distrust toward a presumed-hostile universe. (Despite the literal meaning of the words, it's not really a religious term!) The notes explore many surprising-to-me connections, including to the basic laws of nature, the vulnerable world hypothesis, mathematical proof, and artificial superintelligence. They're pretty speculative, but hopefully stimulating and enjoyable!

Thank you for writing this. I'm about halfway through reading Carlsmith's long essay and in the early stages of figuring out what I can do with it, so it's nice to have another perspective.
Are you familiar with Robert Anton Wilson's "model agnosticism"?
